Mayor’s Commendation for Outstanding Volunteer Organization

The Social Service Center of Incheon National University received the Outstanding Volunteer Organization Commendation (Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City Award) at the awards ceremony held in celebration of the 2025 Incheon Metropolitan City Volunteer Day.

This commendation is presented to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the activation of volunteer service in the local community. The Social Service Center of Incheon National University was selected in recognition of its efforts to expand volunteer participation among university members and to promote a culture of volunteerism throughout the community.

The Center operates a wide range of social contribution programs, including educational volunteering, environmental cleanup activities, support for vulnerable groups, and collaborative volunteer programs with local organizations, engaging thousands of students each year. In particular, it was highly praised for establishing a stable university–community volunteer framework by linking the university’s human and educational resources to the resolution of local community issues.

Director Young-soo Lee stated, “This award is the result of the dedication of all students and members who voluntarily participated in volunteer activities,” adding, “We will continue to actively support diverse volunteer opportunities so that students can gain meaningful experiences in the community and practice social responsibility.”

Meanwhile, building on this recognition, the Social Service Center of Incheon National University plans to further expand its community contribution activities—including educational volunteering programs—starting next year, and to strengthen a sustainable foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation with the local community.
