Incheon National University (President Injae Lee) announced that the university’s Institute of the Infinite Imagination has been selected as the official operating institution for the “Star Bridge Center” project, hosted by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KOFAC).

The Star Bridge Center is a national initiative that connects teachers, schools, and research institutions, enabling teachers to participate directly in advanced scientific research. Through this hands-on experience, teachers develop and implement school-based programs and content related to cutting-edge science and technology.

Incheon National University plans to conduct research on material property analysis using advanced optical technologies, including Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Three teachers from across the country have been selected to participate, and the research will be conducted at the university’s Nano Ultrafast Phenomena Laboratory (NUPL) within the Department of Physics.

In addition to the research program, the university will offer teacher training sessions, Science Dream Camps, and community outreach programs. These efforts aim to integrate advanced science and technology into school education and help students discover their aptitudes and talents in scientific fields.

Professor Soobong Choi, Director of the Institute of the Infinite Imagination and a faculty member of the Department of Physics at Incheon National University, stated,

“Through the Star Bridge Center, we aim to foster future science and technology talents by offering teachers meaningful research experiences and expanding science education opportunities within the local community.”

The Institute of the Infinite Imagination operates a range of initiatives such as the Star Bridge Center and the STEAM Education Experience Center to promote science education and nurture future talent.

The institute is located on the 3rd floor of Seongji Hall at Incheon National University’s Jemulpo Campus.
