Award for Meritorious Service in Immigration Administration
The Korean Language Education Center at Incheon National University (Director: Sook-hee Chae) announced on the 15th that it received the “2025 Award for Meritorious Service in Immigration Administration” at a briefing session held in the main conference room of the Incheon Immigration Office.
The award recognizes the Center’s achievements in stably operating an international student immigration management system over many years. The Center was highly commended for creating a stable residency environment through rigorous academic and attendance management, as well as a continuous counseling system for international students.
In particular, the Center’s close cooperation with the Incheon Immigration Office was acknowledged for its contributions to systematically improving the management quality of Korean language trainees, including: Establishing systems to prevent illegal stays, Building a regular information-sharing framework, and Institutionalizing immigration policy education programs for international students.
The Korean Language Education Center at Incheon National University continues to advance a comprehensive support system encompassing both education and daily life for the steadily increasing number of international learners. Through these efforts, the Center contributes to the internationalization of the local community and to strengthening the university’s global competitiveness. This award is especially meaningful in that the Center’s international student management system has been recognized as a best-practice model at the national level.
Director Sook-hee Chae stated, “Providing an environment in which international students can focus on their studies safely and stably is a core responsibility of the university,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation with immigration authorities and further develop a responsible and sustainable international student management system.”
